Norwalk Peacemakers

peace•mak•ern.: one who settles an argument or stops a fight.

Who we are:
We are a Connecticut based interfaith group of concerned citizens organized out of the First Congregational Church of Norwalk who advocate preemptive peacemaking to current world conflicts. We join together in our belief in the God of justice and love for weekly candlelight prayer vigils on the steps of the First Congregational Church on the Green in Norwalk, CT, USA. We support a diplomatic and creative resolution to the tyranny in Iraq, and employment of nonviolent alternatives to war. We oppose the use of military force against Iraq and its people. We believe it is time for us to become better informed about the policies of our government toward Iraq and to act to change those policies.

There will be a candlelight prayer vigil on the steps of the First Congregational Church of Norwalk (Park & Lewis Streets) every Wednesday evening (until further notice) from 6:00 to 6:30 PM. There is a short organizational meeting afterwards with hot drinks for all who are interested.
All are welcome to join us as we sing and pray for peace.

Please don't sit at home isolated from people watching your TV and despairing, come and gather for peace and the support of real people.

"We are not silent, we are not passive, few or wimpy. We are The Peacemakers; we shall be heard, and we shall make a difference!" -AMH
